Tati à la folie: the saga of the pink gingham brand

In the 1950s, Jules Ouaki launched the concept of bulk sales , products presented in containers and permanently sold. For its sixtieth anniversary, the emblematic brand in pink and white gingham gave carte blanche to twenty artists - photographers, fashion designers, sculptors, painters, illustrators and designers - to express their vision. Among them, names like Matali Crasset, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Christian Lacroix, Oliviero Toscani, Tsé & Tsé, Carole Bellaïche, Pascal Colrat, Gilles Crapes or Jean-Baptiste et Prosper Sibertin-Blanc . Their works were exhibited in November 2008 at "104", the new multidisciplinary artistic place in the capital, then sold at auction for the benefit of the Rêves association. This charity aims to sponsor the dreams of sick children and help them find a smile. The book, "Tati à la Folie". All the works were brought together in a work published by Editions Textuel, sold for € 15. It recounts the Tati years, from its birth to its sixtieth birthday, through the cross-eyed view of employees of yesterday and today (cashiers, store managers, handler, managers ...).
