Allow 5 to 10 minutes per line, knowing that working in pairs makes work easier and above all more pleasant!

Where to start laying?

The laying of the first strip is very important: on its perfect verticality all the rest of the room depends! That is to say if you have to be careful. Before starting the installation, trace over the entire height of the wall, using a plumb line or a level and a ruler, a vertical mark perfectly straight at the location of an edge of the first strip . If your paper is decorated with large patterns, position this first strip in the center of a wall to highlight the pattern, otherwise start by following the edge of a window or door, checking its verticality, which, with the grazing light, will hide the excess thicknesses of the fittings. Your line will therefore be 53 cm (width of a strip) from your door frame.

The step by step

The walls

Always start by placing your paper on the corner opposite the entrance to the room, from right to left, then from left to right after the door, so that the grazing light makes the strip connection disappear.

Glue your first strip on the table, fold it into an accordion and let it soak in glue for 5 to 10 minutes.

Place it by unfolding the paper at the top of the wall, letting it hang a few centimeters above the ceiling. Immediately paste a few centimeters at the top to hold the paper in place.

Unfold the second half of the strip by dropping it along the wall. Position this first strip very precisely along the vertical axis drawn on the wall.

Then proceed to the general masking, using the upholstery brush to glue the paper against the wall and expel air bubbles from the center to the edges.

Lay the next strip, regularly checking that it is vertical. And above all, do not hesitate to take off the last strip installed if it does not seem to you rigorously edge to edge with the previous one! It is easy to reposition it.

After laying two or three strips and cleaning the excess glue using a sponge and clear water, pass the upholstery wheel over the joints so that they do not "rebel" by interposing a sheet of paper which will prevent the wallpaper from shining ... If your paper is embossed or embossed, you will then use the upholstery brush.

Trim the excess paper on the baseboards. Use a universal knife or a cutter by guiding it on a large plastering knife held at an angle firmly on top of the plinth.
