Remove moldy stain from seagrass

Seagrass is a material particularly appreciated for its practical sides and its texture. It is also waterproof, which gives it good resistance to soiling. However, it may happen that stains settle on your floor covering or carpet. Here are some tips to remove mold.

Do not hesitate to wet it

Contrary to popular belief, know that seagrass is very easy to maintain and without household products! It is enough to pass a damp mop on the surface to restore cleanliness and shine. Seagrass appreciates water, that's why you can clean it without hesitation, so it will be embellished. Originally from China, it used to be flooded during cultivation before being harvested, dried and woven to give a floor covering.

Avoid installing it in a room that is too humid

In theory, seagrass is a material that does not fear humidity and can be installed even in the bathroom. But, mold growing in the wettest rooms of the house, it is better not to install it in a poorly ventilated bathroom or one that does not include an opening in order to prevent possible mold stains. A living room or bedroom is the ideal place for this type of coating.

Getting rid of mold with ammonia

If the damage is already done, you will see mold stains appear on your floor or carpet. But don't panic, you can easily remove them! Slightly dilute ammonia in water then soak a clean cloth in the solution and dab the stain. Rinse your seagrass in clear water and it should have regained its original appearance, without using chemicals that could damage it.
