I install pebbles in a walk-in shower

A walk-in shower is trendy! If you want to go even further in customizing your bathroom, here is a technique for placing pebbles on the bottom of your shower tray yourself, effortlessly, and with a clean and unique look.

Step 1 - I prepare my material

To install pebbles in a walk-in shower, you will need the following equipment: mallet, glue, brush, trowel, comb, meter, cutter and joint.

Step 2 - I seal the tank and the walls

After gluing your shower tray on the floor with a special glue, apply with water-repellent seals on each angle formed by the receiver with the walls of the room (the seals are blue in this photo).

Repeat this time with the angles formed by the vertical walls of the shower. Let it dry for at least 12 hours.

Step 3 - I put the pebble plates without the glue

Place the pebble plates dry on your shower tray. Place them flat, you will know how to arrange them without false note before having put the glue.

Step 4 - I prepare the glue

Prepare the special glue using a mixer (possibility of renting the device). A word of advice: ready-to-use glues exist, ask your distributor.

Step 5 - I put the glue in place

Apply the glue to the floor with a trowel. Be careful not to put too much glue!

Remember to smooth with a fine comb to avoid excess.

Step 6 - I lay the pebble fillets

Slide the roller plates one on top of the other to prevent the glue from rising up between them. They easily fit together thanks to the prior cutting made by the manufacturer.

Step 7 - Around the drain, I adapt the pebble plate

Once at the drain, measure the distance from the end of the nearest plate, then cut the pebble plate as needed. The rollers are glued on a very fine mesh which is easily cut with a cutter.

Step 8 - I think about the finishes

To cleverly fill the holes in the corners and go around the drain, peel off the pebbles from the mesh.

Glue them one by one.

Let it dry for about a day.

Then brush the rollers with gasket over the entire surface, taking care not to leave any air bubbles between the rollers. During this operation, remember to protect the drain with specific tape. After a few minutes of drying, remove the excess seal on the surface of the rollers using a damp sponge.
